YOUR SELFTAPE, YOUR STORY
Let`s get to know you!
Your self-tape is your chance to introduce yourself, show us your personality and help us understand your look and skills.
You don`t need a professional camera or a studio. Your phone, good light and a little preparation are enough.
Follow these simple steps to create your introduction.
Estimated reading time: 3 minutes
1. Find the right spot
Choose a quiet place with a clean, simple background. Make sure there is enough space around you to move freely.
Avoid background noise, mirrors, windows behind you and anything that may distract from you.
2. Set up your camera
Use your phone or camera in horizontal position (Landscape). Place it at eye level and keep it steady, using a tripod or a stable surface.
Clean your camera lens and make sure there is enough space to move back for the full-body part of your video.
3. Check your lighting
Natural light is best. Face a window or a soft light source so we can see your face clearly.
Avoid strong light behind you or harsh shadows across your face.
4. Frame yourself and introduce yourself
Start with a Medium Close-Up (MCU) shot.
Your camera should show you from the chest up, with your face clearly visible.
For the correct framing:
- From the chest up: The bottom of the frame should be around chest level.
- A little space above your head: Leave a small amount of headroom without cutting off your head.
- Shoulders visible: Keep your face and shoulders naturally centred in the frame.
- Camera at eye level: The camera should face you directly, not from above or below.
- Horizontal (Landscape): Always record horizontally, not vertically.
Once your camera is correctly positioned, look directly into the lens and speak clearly and naturally.
Please tell us:
- Your full name
- Your age
- Your height
- Where you live (city and country)
- Your languages
- Your skills, talents and interests
- Any relevant experience, if you have it
You don`t need to memorise a script. Just be yourself and speak as if you are meeting someone for the first time.
5. Show us your full body
This part is important — please don`t forget it!
After your introduction, change to a Full-Body Shot by moving back from the camera or adjusting its position.
Make sure your entire body is visible, from head to toe, with a little space above your head and below your feet.
Stand naturally, facing the camera. Then:
- Stand still: Face the camera naturally for a moment.
- Turn around: Slowly turn all the way around once (360°), showing both sides and your back before facing the camera again.
- Walk naturally: Take a few relaxed steps towards the camera, keeping your entire body visible.
- Return to your position: Step back to your starting point and stand naturally for a moment before ending the video.
Keep your movements simple and natural. There is no need to pose or perform a catwalk unless the casting instructions specifically ask you to do so.
Important: Keep your head, feet and entire body visible throughout the full-body sequence.
6. Keep your appearance natural
Wear simple, well-fitting clothes that allow us to see your shape and overall appearance clearly.
Avoid very loose clothing, busy patterns, large logos and distracting accessories.
Keep makeup and styling natural. We want to see you as you normally look.
7. Want to show us your skills? (Optional)
If you are an actor, dancer, musician, athlete, model or performer, you are welcome to share a short video showing your skills or talents.
Please do not include your skills demonstration in your introduction self-tape.
Your introduction video should contain only your personal introduction and the full-body sequence.
If you would like to show us what you can do, simply record and upload a separate skills video.
This is completely optional. You don`t need professional experience to join our network. Everyday people and unique personalities are welcome, too.
8. Check before you upload
Before sending your video, make sure:
- Your face and voice are clear.
- Your name, age, height and location are included.
- Your introduction is filmed in a Medium Close-Up, from the chest up, with a little space above your head.
- Your full body is visible during the turning and walking sequence.
- Your video is recorded horizontally (Landscape).
- The camera stays steady and the lighting is good.
- Your video has no filters, music or unnecessary effects.
- Any skills demonstration is uploaded as a separate video.
Keep your introduction short and clear, ideally around 60–90 seconds, including the full-body sequence.
